Keep it up. Most of the women looked fantastic, but I do wish Mary McFadden would do something with her hair colour. Jet black on an aging face just looks terribly ageing. 'It is important for women to be daring and not worry about what people say,' she said. 'I love what people might call mutton-dressed-as-lamb.' As for how an older woman should wear her hair:'People often say you can't have long hair over 40. B******* to that! I want long hair and I'm going to keep my long hair.' That kind of attitude is what, I'd guess, has kept her happily married for many years to a (much, much) younger man.Villettenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-56334362657726035562011-09-29T05:50:29.643+02:002011-09-29T05:50:29.643+02:00Please do continue the series. I think what most of them have in common is that they are themselves with a vengance. Many years ago, most of the women discovered a hairstyle that suited their faceshape and personal style and have basically stayed the course with a few little updates. Great hair is part of their signature look -- Jane Fonda's shag, Diane von F's long, curly locks, Joanna Lumley (always bangs), Judi Danch (short hair). These women all have a very distinctive style and they are, for the most part, consistent in how they present themselves to the world. Confidence is always attractive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-90249504746101781952011-09-28T19:51:25.086+02:002011-09-28T19:51:25.086+02:00No, don't stop. I'll add th...Great series - please continue!!

I'll add that I think it would be an interesting conversation between us all to "dissect" a bit what factors in these faces we are responding positively / negatively towards. Ex: I agree with the all the positive Julie Christie comments, and, for me, it's because her face shows the traces of life-long questioning in her forehead and laughter around her eyes. Also, if you can find some newer photos of Vera Wang, they show she's undergone some adjustments and that she's lost weight. A side-by-side comparion would be good to see, as her adaptations don't detract from her presence at all, and, instead make her essence more clear - why is that? Also, totally agree that commerically photoshopping beautiful lived-in faces, like Diane Keaton,to sell face care products to women in the same age group is,at best,a disservice to both the face and the consumer!

Again, great series, thank you!Treenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-52965491563893063682011-09-28T19:28:02.534+02:002011-09-28T19:28:02.534+02:00Really enjoying this series.

She acted like a teenager desperately seeking anyone's attention. I always assumed I would get a lift once things began to sag, but after seeing many, many altered faces in my upscale southwestern city, I have changed my mind (would not mind work on the neck but a Mayo surgeon said that is not the proper approach). And the madness that has taken over Hollywood! I feel sad, amused, enraged that the heretofore aspirational appearance of women who have the means for the best care has taken on a clownlike aura. Since they often get the same work, and look at the same structural changes io each other's faces, it must seem normal.
