They are all slobbery and shedding bad-breath beasts, but they are the ones happy to see me when I get home, so there it is. My verdict is still out on Tilda...don't know enough about her but friend Adrienne suggested a movie I am going to watch her in this weekend to get an idea. I know very well about animals being dumped in shelters. I've adopted many myself. As I've mentioned on a couple of occasions, I arrived in France with three LARGE dogs from the Bedford, NY, SPCA.

My intention was really an observation. And, Pseu, you're so right. The in-breeding begins, the dogs become snappy or any other weaknesses in a breed can become a dominant rather than recessive gene. I know all of these things. Money becomes the motivation. It's terrible, but true.

Please forgive me for the approach. I love dogs, full stop. Cats too, though I've had less experience with them.

Do read this like an observation, not a justification or a recommendation or anything beyond the fact I'm seeing lots of them and they're very cute and funny.

Merci par avance,
TishTish Jetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08865177127050648489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-17753212437443424952011-03-28T17:02:19.698+02:002011-03-28T17:02:19.698+02:00The idea that pets are trendy just drives me nuts....The idea that pets are trendy just drives me nuts. I love dogs, basically all breeds, but I love mutts too. Here in LA one proudly shows off their mixed breen rescue dog. Are people adopting rescue dogs in France? Do dogs even need to be rescued in France? But, dang, French Bulldogs are cute. They may yet rule the world. About Tilda Swinton: she's one of my favorite actors, man or woman. A real witch in "The Chronicles of Narnia"; brilliant in "Michael Clayton"; etc.

Thank you for your thoughtful and relevant comment on my blog post. Watched it yesterday while ironing my weekly stack of laundry. Gorgeously shot and wardrobed movie, but oh, she's an odd duck for sure. She does her own thing. What's really a shame is that dog breed "trends" tend to support puppy mills that start cranking out the latest "hot" breed. (And then, shelters start seeing waves of that breed. For a while it was Jack Russells, and then Chihuahuas.) But yes, they're awfully darn mignon.

I can't remember the last film I saw with Tilda Swinton, but she does have amazing bone structure and is courageous with her style.Susan Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16005855250089328310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-51768892047583189702011-03-28T13:56:38.657+02:002011-03-28T13:56:38.657+02:00I think I am more a fan of the French Bulldog than...I think I am more a fan of the French Bulldog than Tilda.spiral stylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14426524680316455772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8632687405116920387.post-12948371582834621352011-03-28T13:37:17.279+02:002011-03-28T13:37:17.279+02:00Wonderful things.
