N'importe Quoi

Interesting. . . I didn't realize.  This looks like a black and white photograph, but it's full color.
Today truly is n'importe quoi or "whatever" or "nonsense". . . you get the idea. What I've collected doesn't warrant a full-blown  "News & Views" headline because it truly is what-ev-er.

Let's start with our garden. As you can see, it's covered with about three inches of snow except under the giant pine trees. It has been snowing almost non-stop for several days and everything is beautiful, in a melancholy sort of way, and bracing.

Moving right along, these colorful, frisky tights are support hose. When living in France one learns that the utilitarian need never be unattractive.

While Google-ing for an example to be used as an illustration, I found this picture of Princess Grace. I saved it to show you because I think the neckline is gorgeous and immensely flattering.

Barefoot and bizarre, by now you may have seen these shoes from the Celine spring/summer collection. In fact, I've been saving them for months in my special "News & Views" dossier. They now come under the heading of "better late than never." I find them sort of disturbing.
For a touch of cowgirl chic pas cher, how about this black cotton blouse from Mango for a mere 15 Euros? "Western" is one of the trends for spring -- if you care -- and I think this would be a pretty, grown-up way to dabble.

Love love love that neckline...I think fashion started to lose some beautiful necklines when the trend shifted from corsets to bras underneath. I wore a corset with a gown to an event recently and was reminded that so many more styles are possible and practical when you don't have to fuss with straps!

The photo of your yard is so gorgeous. You may be tired of winter, but we in The Land Of No Winter thank you.

The snow is so beautiful...I honestly have not seen snow in 20 years...it looks magical. Loved, Jealous in South Texas (North Texas actually had a blizzard yesterday!!)

Celine: the same fashion house that released those bizarre fur-covered slippers and pumps. Methinks the emperor has no clothes ....

I need those tights! And, here in Houston we are in full Spring while there are blizzard conditions in the north part of the state. How wonderful it would be to have snow such as yours for just a few days...a light frosting. xx's Tish

LOVE the tights! LOVE the ribboned shoes that are shown with them. LOVE the neckline on Grace Kelly (don't we love everything on Grace Kelly?)... and yes, those painted toenails on the Celine footwear are a bit... creepy.

Then again, it would be worse (to me) if the polish color were garish green or bright blue!

Please give dets on tights. Must live with horrible varicose veins and just got rid of a clot. Need them!

OK, the shoes are a little weird, but even more disturbing (and ugly) are Celine's "fuzzy shower shoes" in the Spring collection.

The snow looks beautiful! And yes, come hell or high water, I'm going to get to Paris in May, if only for a day.

Loved the Grace Kelly neckline. I'm sure if she had been dressed in a black plastic bin-liner she would have looked fabulous. Also want the coloured frisky support tights. I'm a definite NO, NO, for the painted toenail shoes. I'm fed up with the snow in the country area around Limoges. It's great if you don't have to go anywhere and can just look at it through the window. Love your posts, never know what to expect.
