Ed. Note: While we're on the subject of black, my favorite color/non-color as I've mentioned on many occasions, my great friend and creative closet magician, Janice, of The Vivienne Files, is back again today with more twists on the theme. You can stay home or travel with her brilliant formula. See below please. . .
Many people want a specific NUMBER of items to pack - and so I suggest that you take the number of days you'll be away, and add 2. This is, therefore, a perfect long-weekend, or Monday to Friday business trip, assortment. No baggage claim for you!

I find black and white SO smart. Always.
I admit that after much trying this and that (yesterday, for Thanksgiving), I went with gray and black for part of the day (and quasi-leopard slingbacks, believe it or not), and then switched to all black with gold accessories and gold heeled sandals...
(I had planned more "style changes" to accompany the course, but I got, um... distracted... enjoying the cooking the company and the food, naturellement.)
Black? Always easy, always chic, always appropriate.
Love. Must get that skirt or one like it. Have the other items or a reasonable facsimile so these outfit ideas wil be very exciting to try once I get over this terrible cold!

Loving this, as I do most everything Janice comes up with...speaking of which, I don't know how she does it, day in and day out; absolutely endless inspiration. She's brilliant; truly.

Really love this. While I've enjoyed the more colorful six-packs, this to me has this advantage: to my eye, in the more colorful mini-wardrobes, the outfits can read as too similar because the limited color palettes are so memorable. Whereas this grouping (again, to my eye) has the magical ability to create multiple diverse outfits. Something about the understated-ness of black, which takes the emphasis off of color and lets the pieces and shapes and sensibility (casual vs. dressy) shine. Thanks! Joy
genius!
Within the six pack travel pack one can mix, remix and intermix to create endless possibilities. Janice the "Genius" (borrowing the word from previous replies) sets the foundation and the rest...the sky is the limit.
Thank you, merci, grazie, gracias, danke, tack, mahalo...dear Janice.
I love and covet every single piece! Thanks for doing my ground work for me.
