Scarves and La Femme Française

It has been so frisky chilly these days that the scarves and shawls are out in full force. In fact, scarves rarely disappear completely.

In the summer they may not be tied in one of those wonderfully creative ways, but instead free-floating. Today, in the third installment of our scarf series once again in the midst of the French there is one woman who is not.

Your challenge is getting more and more difficult. See if you can single her out of the group. (Remember these are pictures I've taken over time which explains the variance in attire.)

Good luck!

I LOVE the woman in the first picture..she is walking with such strength and confidence...and I also like the way she tied her scarf! I think the third picture is not French..but so far, I am not good at this!

I think it's the woman with the purple shopping bag. She just has an American look to her, in my opinion!

A good question. Could it be the woman in the second image. They all look terrific.

I think it's the lady with the purple shopping bag. The sneakers and bag with logos makes me suspicios...

They all look great.

See, I also thought it was the lady with the purple shopping bag until I clicked on the photo and now...I have now idea! But I still love this series and can I just say WHY ON EARTH do we still need the big scarves?! I am freezing! I put on one of my heaviest sweaters today!!

My guess is the lady with the purple shopping bag also. She just has a different look somehow.

PS. I went a little bonkers after yesterday's post!! You know how addictive it is once you start. Soooo, not only did I do the whole medecine cabinet (skin care, makeup, medical misc.) but did all of my lingerie and socks (!) and t-shirts! Wahoo!!

I think it's the lady in picture #3 with her hand up to her sunglasses. Something about her looks American to me. Of course, I've been guessing wrong on every single one of these. Ha ha!

I vote for the third image...
there seems to be something quite different about how she composed her attire...not as chic perhaps.

I think it's the woman in the 4th picture, short hair, walking with hands in her pockets.

My first guess is also the woman in the 4th picture. She looks European, but maybe not French. But maybe it is the 3rd or 5th.

I think it's the woman with the orange trim on her purse. I don't see French women doing "pops" of color. I love the first pic as her choices were more subdued even tho' they included different shades of the same tone/color. Can't wait to see if I'm learning........

It IS getting more difficult! I'll guess #2, the one looking at the boots.

I'm wearing one today!!
Oh, and the American?
Probably #3, but not certain.

I must say - I love the jolt of color on the woman in the first photo.

My inclination is to think #3 is American. More her stance than anything else.

(You're so good at catching our attention Tish! AND keeping us guessing.)

This time I don't think we're searching for the American, just the non-French woman. I can't tell. They all could be French but I think #3.

Hmmm. I am also not very good at this - #6 (bleached blonde w/bangs), maybe European but not French. I don't see much of that on your blog; colored hair, yes - bright blonde, no.

If not 6, than #1 - I agree with another commenter, she looks Italian.

#2 or #4 - can't decide between them. Since no one else has even mentioned 4, I'll go with 2 - this is hard!

I am voting for number 6 (the last one). Only because she seems so engaging and my experience is that Europeans are not as open in that way...still waters! So fun!

Number 3. And I'm guessing she's German.

Guessing that it is the one with her hands in her pockets. I inadvertently did this years ago when I first met my husband's Danish family. My sister-in-law took me aside and quietly suggested that it was bad manners to do this in public. Is it the same in Paris?

All the ladies pictured are lovely. The lady in the first picture is not French. Perhaps she is American.

I'm guessing No.1 she has a lot going on.

So hard to guess. They all look great. But I'd put my money on the woman with the purple shopping bag. However, I'm a notoriously bad better.

I'm going with #2. The others all have je ne sais quoi; number 2 is just je ne sais.

OK, I admit, this one was difficult -- almost unfair.

But, one of you got it right. It's the second photo. Patou is from Belgian.

Let's see how you fare next week.

Kristien62 said...

A complete guess- No. 3. No particular reason.

Now that you have mixed in other Europeans, I give up. I can only play "spot the American"!

Next week it's "Spot the American!"

Tish,

Would you have been able single Patou out? If so, how?
French/Belgium=Oooh la la la la la! Too hard for me!

No, I never would have been able to pull this one off.

I think it is woman number 4. Her outfit does not fit quite as well and her scarf is tied differently.
