| Working the navy, here in a whimsical draped silk skirt from Nina Ricci. |
In our continuing series on what to wear in Paris, my pal and creator of the must-visit-every-day blog,
The Vivienne Files, has used navy blue as the foundation to build upon. I love navy and believe it is slightly kinder than black, even though I'm addicted to black.
To me, navy says "fresh" and "spring" and "Paris."

Love the skirt! And the ruffled sweater too-- so feminine...
These are outfits I would wear all the time.....love each and every piece..and April in Pairs is the best!
I turned on the Sinatra station this weekend and he was singing APRIL IN PARIS...so I am already in the mood. I love B & W popped with green and the top outfit is so much fun!
I so agree with your thoughts about navy. It looks great 4 seasons, it goes with any other color, and can be worn city or country, on a boat, to a wedding, to a funeral, and looks perfect for a casual Saturday in Summer and a formal dinner in Winter. A perfectly fitting navy suit of very fine wool gabardine could take one almost anywhere, any season. Inspired capsules, love the green! N.G.
fabulous....if I ever get out of big boots and chunky knits....still freezing!!
Very nice. Navy and green is a gorgeous combination!
Totally OT but for those who ARE in Paris this April note that both Eucerin and Filorga are 20% off at Monoprix this month.
Vivienne knows her audience! Souvenir purchase indeed! This is a lovely wardrobe and so wearable.
Love the ruffled sweater and the combo of colors!

Love the whimsy of the ruffle. And navy is classic. Always fresh, any time of the year.
So, what about the dress????
Just when I fall in love with one of Vivienne's looks, she comes up with something even better! Thanks so much for bringing her to us!
Love. Love. Love.
l love the skirt too and like you, wear waaaay too much black.
Navy looks fabulous in these combinations.
l think l would like to have Vivienne as my ' live in stylist' !
These are really sharp. I'm not typically a navy person but the accessories & splashes of color make everything pop. Wow.
Love this color capsule and could see myself wearing most of the pieces. do you ever give links for the pieces your post, would love to be able purchase some of what you lay out so beautifully for us. I am going to Paris in the Fall, my very first time. WE rented an apartment for two weeks, can hardly wait, Kathysue
ps, thank you for all your hard work pulling these outfits together as wonderful examples, Kathysue
