Next Week or La Semaine Prochaine

My plan for the week is to gather a few friends who will -- if I'm lucky -- expound on a subject. I know the subject, I just haven't asked them yet. That's next on today's agenda.

I'll kick it off on Monday and they'll pick up from there in their creatively individual ways. I hope you like this idea. Do you like themed weeks or do you prefer a melange of different subjects?

When I was working in magazines we would often have a major cover story that took up numerous pages inside which was the most important feature of the month, but there were always alternative pieces for those who were not interested in the big article.

I always try to think of subjects that would interest all of us examined from different points of view. You'll have to let me know what you think.

On another note: Resveratrol the magic potion that all French women are supposedly taking to stay slim? I don't know anyone using it, but Christine surely does. She is off skiing with her family so we'll have to wait until she returns to get the lowdown.

Weather Report: Sun, glorious sun, buds on the bushes and trees, nature thinks it's spring as do the birds and the dogs. I hope they're right. One can never completely trust the end of February and that strange month of March.

What a wonderful idea! I look forward to reading the entries.

At this point in life ( as in being 'of an age'), there is nothing more satisfying than exchanging thoughts and ideas.

Enjoyed visiting,

I, too, look forward to Christine's words; although I think it is most probably the skiing and other activity that keeps the weight off and the resveratrol that keeps her looking young.

This sounds wonderfully interesting, Tish. Our trees and flowers are anticipating spring also, though here we've hardly had a winter at all. Big hug, cookie...

Isn't resveratrol the magic ingredient in red wine?
I look forward to your posts however you do them, theme, haphazard, whatever. As long as they're there.

Always looking forward to you (and your chums) expounding... cela fait toujours plaisir.

As does the sun... especially this time of year.

The weather in February is fickle here too..... so exhausting ..... 25 deg C one day 38 deg C with hot winds the next followed but a humid 35 deg C which is turning my brain to mush.
Always look forward to the posts on your blog. Bisous

I lap up every entry like a little puppy. Whatever you want to talk about and in whatever format - it's all always very pleasing and welcome, Tish!

It all sounds interesting. I like both themed weeks, and weeks where we never know what you'll throw our way. It's all delightful!

Where on earth do you live ? We haven't seen the sun in ages, lucky you ! I (another Christine in France) have never heard of resveratrol and would never swallow ANY magic potion, even with the promise that it would make me instantly slim ! And in regard to future posts, throw any subject at us ; it will always be lovely to read !

Great idea for a series. And about "that strange month of March". You're so right! Anything could happen-- but living in Minnesota, the month of April too, has the potential for being strange. Enjoy your budding trees!

I interviewed the researcher who discovered that it's trans Resveratrol (in red wine and other foods) that effects gene expression and may help prevent the promotion of cancer. Sinclair at Harvard is studying how large dosages might affect aging, but I've never seen anything linking Res to weight loss. One caveat: Sinclair said he and others on his team who take Res in capsule form have blood work done every six weeks or so to ensure they're not incurring liver damage, etc.

Hi Tish,

I like your idea of exploring a theme with different points of view, there is nothing like trying.

You always have such interesting posts. Thanks, from a woman a little past her prime...
