| The label says "Karl," the designer is the only-and-only and the collection is available exclusively through the Internet. |
Since the bits and pieces are all over the place, let's dispense with convoluted transition sentences and use my two favorite forms of communication: lists and headlines.
And we're off. . .
Macha Was Deeply Touched
She asked me to thank all of you profusely for your kind birthday wishes yesterday and to tell you she had a lovely, quite celebration at home with the family and enjoyed her hamburger, while suffering through way too much hands-on public displays of affection (she's discrete) all followed by a very good night's sleep.
A Brilliant Idea
Claire Vidal, who like many women, particularly Frenchwomen, has suffered for the sake of fashion decided enough already. As she watched other women (and herself) trotting along the streets of Paris in haute heels and grimaces she decided it was time to find a panacea for the pain. Et voila, her brilliant idea: super cushy innersoles to slip into stratospherically high heels -- or any uncomfortable shoes for that matter. She named her new company, Red Carpet.
But, she didn't stop at the utilitarian. No indeed. She saw no reason not to make the inside of one's shoes as trendy as the outside with a range of colors and even leopard motif semelles.
They ring in at 29 Euros. If you're intrigued, click here.
And The Winner Is. . .
The winner of the Detox tea from Kusmi Tea is Joni Nawrocki. Please e-mail me your mailing address and I shall pass it along to Kusmi. (tishjett@yahoo.com)
Congratulations!
Starting Tomorrow
Karl Lagerfeld's new line of ready-to-wear featuring his latest label, "Karl," will be available on
net-a-porter. The collection of some 100 pieces priced from 60 to 300 Euros will be offered only through the Internet.
Karl, as we all know, is an advangardist who has nothing against technology, tiny images of himself in Christmas windows, his svelt form replicated in a palette of eye shadows and his silhouette on Coke Lite bottles. He has arrived at that exalted position where he can do anything and it never tarnishes his reputation -- from the haute couture to the hoi polloi. No easy feat.
From what little I've seen of the collection (very little) I think I'll take the collar and call it a day. I hope it comes in white.
And, that's all she wrote -- for today.

I think I'll leave the Karlwear to the guys on "Sprockets" (sorry, dated reference), but those insoles...must have some of those! And they have a US website, hooray!
My feet are crying out for those insoles!! I will visit the website immediately!!
Congratulations to Joni Nawrocki on winning the tea.
I love the insoles and could have used them on Saturday night, as I had to stand for hours
So glad your doggie was pampered

Tish I am loving Claire's company Red Carpet. Although for the most part I now wear comfy shoes, well once in a while I pull those heels out! :love the colors!

I've just ordered a pair of the Red Carpet insoles: one pair to start with, to make sure I've ordered the right size, and then on to some for open toes shoes, and even for Repettos. What a great idea. Thanks.
I have to agree with Deja Pseu and the "Sprokets" reference. It's certainly someone's style -- just not mine.
And how fun -- I'm the winner of the tea! Merci beaucoup, Tish!
Well, let's see...there will be no "Karl" for me, I need detoxing X10, and I think dog's rule bigtime. Today is not a good day as you can tell, but I'm still standing, and now I'm smiling. Love you Tishipoo !!
As I observe the flood of Repettos on your blog, I do fret for the fate of the feet of fashionable Frenchwomen! Watching them pound the cobblestones in thin-soled sandals last summer had me ACHING in sympathy, and wondering when the entire nation will develop plantar fasciitis. Those insoles are a great start--but they do need some arch support! : >
I do love the shoes in the Karl photos, but... I'm ambivalent on the looks as a whole, though see some promise for the aspects of separates.
I went through a February ELLE magazine yesterday. It was such an odd mix (to me)... I'll be interested to hear your thoughts & pics on the upcoming fashions for the spring.
I had a preview of the Karl collection last night and was surprised to find quite a few grown-up pieces I liked. Didn't see a white collar though!
Congratulations to the lucky winner! On my way to check out Red Carpet, my tootsies have been punished enough!
I will check out the innersoles as I am always looking for comfort. I have used these foot pads - recommended on another blog - and found them very helpful for the times I wear high heels. Go to Amazon and look up Stiletto Hardware. They have cushions for the heel and the ball of the foot - and they are small enough for sandles.
Not at all interested in the Karl collection, so not my style. Will check out the insoles. Hope Macha had a great birthday.
Those Karl clothes look neither pleasing nor well-made, butguess I am not his audience. Innersoles help but I can't wear a heel beyond 2" with any product, and even then, not to walk far. (To every age, there is a heel height, perhaps.)
Just going to check out those marvellous innersoles now, thank you for sharing the link !
I rather fancy we will all be walking in supreme comfort soon! Of to order a pair to try them out!!
I have no interest in Karlwear but the cushy insoles look great!
