My New Shoes

No point in not being frank: I went berserk. Yes I did. I've got a thing for ballerinas and when they're marked down 50 to 60 percent. . . Well, I just can't help it. I try, really I do, but I can't.

Here are two pairs I bought from my favorite boutique in the town next to ours. (I'll photograph the others and show you next week.) To be perfectly honest, I didn't buy them only for me. Andrea will have some too.

If you do not already know about Anniel shoes, they are the Repetto of Italy i.e., originally made for dancers. The quality is excellent, the price somewhere around one-third to sometimes one-half of Repettos. Whereas Repetto runs small for its size, Anniel runs somewhat larger. They are a dream to wear, sublimely comfortable.

Will look for these in France this summer. I find Repettos very uncomfortable; hopefully these will be better for me.

Beautiful shoes. I've been wearing ballerinas, before they became "real" shoes. I always had a pale pink and black pair, with no real sole. Just bought my first Repettos in NY - 2 pairs - cognac and navy.
Do you wear yours in the winter?

I love ballet flats...can't get enough and I completely sympathize with going beserk...both are cute..but I love the one with the stars!!!

Love these Tish! I have the same problem..all ballet flats a tad too tight. I have tried in vain to squeeze into French Sole but never get it right. I don't blame you for going beserk!

Best wishes for a fab weekend Tish!

Hi Tish, I know I'm older than you but would you adopt me? Lucky Andrea and what fun you two must have discussing your columns and interests. Thanks for the great info as always. judy

Your ballerines are lovely. But my flats are few and far between; even for walking I have low heels and (fortunately) find them comfy.

And your excursions in Land of Soldes? Hopefully more treasures to share with us soon?

I always had extraordinary fun if I was fortunate enough to be in Paris (or the South, for that matter), during Sale season.

Something for everyone. (And a few divine accessories I still use and cherish.)

Love ballet flats. Years (and years) ago before this style was available I actually used to buy ballet shoes!
Thank you for introducing me to Anniel - I will need to take a spare suitcase to Europe this year just for ballet flats!
Warm regards

Tish, if you find shoes you love AND they happen to be on deep discount I feel you are required to buy them as a matter of principle. Think of the money you have saved by not waiting and buying shoes at full price! ( I can justify any amount of shoe shopping) I hope you wear them in good health.

Greetings Tish,

Mmm...these are so lovely. I hope they are available on this side of the pond?

Happy New Year, Marjorie

Ooo Ooo.. I want a pair.. *raises hand and bounces up & down.* They look fabulous, and wearing them must feel like going barefoot, but feel softer! :D

Would you believe, dear Tish, ballet flats now remind me of you since I've been following your blog?! My small but extra wide feet are always seeking comfort so "a dream to wear, sublimely comfortable" has sent me off looking for them online ...

Hi Tish,

Love those Repetto's! Now you've done it.

I took your photo of those pointe shoes as an encouraging sign. On Tuesday I'm returning to ballet classes, after a 2 year absence. Of course, I'm not crazy enough to dust off my point shoes (that ship sailed years ago!) Thank you for giving a Sistah some inspiration, just when she needed it ;-)

Nice choices, especially the black ballerinas with the stars.

I don't own any ballerinas but might try some this year. My shoe size is US 8.5 D/E, very difficult to find, so I usually have to buy shoes online.
