Heart, Mind & Soul -- A Giveaway

Much more than what they seem, these lovely cards photographed -- and each individually signed -- by Leslie, creator of the charming blog, La Fourchette, are an exploration and extension of her imagination and intuition.**

Leslie is a woman of vast and varied talents. She is a psychotherapist and an artist. When explaining her fascination with photography she quotes photographer Wynn Bullock: "At 42, I decided to become a photographer because it offered a means of creative thought and action. I didn't rationalize this, I just felt it intuitively and followed my intuition, which I have never regretted."

In her own words: "I draw upon my years as a psychotherapist to reveal the fundamental pattern, the very essence of what I am registering in my viewfinder. It is my hope that what is seen in my photographs is not an expression of an incidental mood evoked by a passing moment. . . but rather the innermost nature -- the essence of the image."

Shortly after she began to follow her passion and traveling to France to shoot photographs, Façonnable discovered her work and used her images in its U.S. market. The card line, an outgrowth of that experience, was featured at Nordstrom and several small French-themed boutiques throughout the United States.

Leslie's black and white work is shown in the Timmon's Gallery in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

She, like moi meme, and scores of other bloggers, writers and photographers whom you know well, decided she wanted more than visits to France and moved here in 2004. As she says, "I made the leap to live in the lovely light of the south of France," where she continues her psychotherapy practice and her  photography. How lucky for us.

**The cards measure 19.5 cm x 14 cm (approximately 7.5 inches x 5.5 inches), printed on high-quality card stock. The inside is blank waiting to be filled with your words -- in whatever language you prefer. Each set of five cards and ecru envelopes is 25 Euros, postage included to anywhere in the world. But today her cards are a cadeau.

You know the drill, tell me you would like to receive them and I'll announce the winner on Monday.

Bonne chance mes amis.

These are just wonderful. I love the old stone arches. And the one with the baby carriage and sign on the building. We visited Paris last year - my first time - and I took so many pictures of the tile signs I saw everywhere.
Please drop my name in the hat as well!

Beautiful photography, particularly the black and white. Don't put my name in the hat though, I always use my own stationary, so it would be a waste.

Lovely. Warm and stark and evocative. Who wouldn't want to receive this cadeau?

And might you (or she) consider sharing a bit of her story - how old she was and what it was like for her to change countries?
