Famous Faces. . .

Fanny Ardant
of women in their 60s and 70s.

Diane Keaton
Diane von Furstenberg
Barbra Streisand
Dame Helen Mirren
Catherine Deneuve
Diane Sawyer
Meryl Streep
Perhaps one day, if I can breakthrough my shyness, I'll photograph beautiful women on the street. When I've tried in the past, most refuse. I don't understand why. For all of us, I'm sure, we would rather see them than the very familiar faces pictured here.

Dame Judi Danch
Jane Fonda
Carolina Herrera
It appears to me all but one has had work done, but, again in my opinion, it's all well done with the exception of one. (Probably there has been some post photo touch-up work performed in some cases as well.) When I set out to write this blog almost three years ago, I decided I would never talk about politics, religion and only a little bit about sex, my fourth tenant was to avoid unpleasant barbs, which is what I am doing right-this-minute -- avoiding them.  I do feel as if I must point out one detail however, notice the necks. . .

It's true, I break rule number four for clothes and shoes, but not for people or animals.

It seems "Diane" was a hot name in the 1940s.

Wonderful collection, Tish. I do not know Fanny Ardent, but I will be looking her up - she is gorgeous.

Yes, most have had work done, but can we blame them? They are lovely looking ladies, all of them, talented, creative, and they excel at what they do. I am so thrilled that you started with the gorgeous and classy Fanny Ardant. When I think of a Parisienne woman, I think of her. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

I can only hope I look half as good as them at that age, some lovely pictures there, I especially love the Helen Mirren one.

It occurs to me that, despite the fact that these women are in their 60s and 70s, any healthy young man would be enchanted to find himself next to one of them at dinner -- especially next to Fanny Ardant, who just smoulders.

Just seeing them all together is so inspiring...there are many of my style icons here on this one page...I wish I could look like Diane Sawyer when I am her age!

They are all lovely and I don't see anything wrong with a little help, as long as you don't end up with what I call the "Palm Beach" look. No offence intended.

The only one of these amazing ladies that I have seen in person is Diane Sawyer. She was just...so...elegant. I know it is cliché to say but she was "effortlessly so."

I really don't judge the ladies for getting work done although there are certain examples that make me a little sad, for they were beautiful enough before the tweaking!

These women are fabulous. Whatever "tweaks," they are subtle.

And Fanny - oh, je l'adore.

They all look so lovely.
Catherine Deneuve looks like she has not had any work done and she radiates beauty.

So much to admire about all of them. Personally, I think people in the public eye should take advantage of whatever cosmetic procedures which makes them happy. I know my neck was the very 1st thing I noticed as I aged. Sitting in the hairdresser's chair with one of those plastic capes velcroed around my neck almost sent me over the edge when I looked in the mirror. Fortunately, I'm not in the public eye and managed to walk upright upon departure from the salon. But. I will admit to having a procedure and I'm happy I did. Didn't you say it's all in the details? :)'s

If I were in the public eye, I'm sure I'd have broken down and had some work by now. For me, it would be to redefine my chin. My neck and chin are becoming as one and not in a good way. hahaha!

I would want Helen Mirren's dr. She looks the best of all the ladies.

Keep in mind, many of the photos have been retouched. It's pretty obvious. The most interesting photo is DVF who appears to have no re-touching witness her skin.

All very beautiful ladies. I think I see where there's been some work, but I can't tell for sure.

So who do you think has not had work done? How can you tell?

Catherine Deneuve...my idol..sigh

OK - right post I see. I think they've all had work done, some more than others. I absolutely think they've all had face and neck lifts for sure, and then some of them fillers, etc. I think there is only one that seems quite botched. I'm curious if it's the same woman you think it is??? I'm not judgmental at all about plastic surgery.
If you want it fine, if you want to age naturally, fine too.
We're all different.

These ladies are proof that no matter how old you are, you can still be beautiful...it raidiates from within through the eyes.

Thank you for posting photos these lovely women. I am reminded of a joke back when Jane Fonda was the exercise goddess in her 40's: If you didn't look like Jane Fonda when you were 20, you won't look like Jane Fonda when you're 40. I'll add: or 60, or 70! Love your blog.

I admire anyone who takes pride in their appearance, and I think some of these ladies have had better work done than others. I wish it was something we shared more openly though, then we would know what works and what doesn't, the neck is a real problem I think, but actually twinkly wrinkly eyes are still attractive. Re being in the public eye, I wonder if that doesn't make it more difficult to have work done - everyone is going to notice good or bad work, likewise the same people will comment if these celebs are looking their age! Great post though and something to think about! Joanne

Jane Fonda has been doing "work" on her face and body for years and years ! and Carolina Herrera definitely ..
I adore Helen Mirren, she is exactly what she is , a beautiful woman .. not trying to be a beautiful girl any longer, just a beautiful woman.
I think Diane Keaton looks fantastic also ..
It saddens me to see a couple of them, a bit overweight, a bit too much make-up .. but my favorites are the ones who smile big and show off every damn wrinkle they have earned over the years ! :)
besitos, C ( who is counting more wrinkles every day ! )

Love the faces, no matter if they had done a bit of nip and tuck.
Not so sure about the too smokey eyes which a few wear on these pictures.
