A Dog Fashion Story
No, I don't dress my dogs. In fact, I've never seen a German shepherd with a wardrobe. Accessories, of course, but not clothes. And, we all know where real fashion finesse is expressed, n'est-ce pas?
In fact, this tale (honestly, I couldn't believe it when I wrote "tale" just now -- and yes I know it would be a misspelling. . .) is about one of my accessories and my dogs.
Years ago, my best childhood friend, Karen, gave me a long, long silver fox boa. I never wore it. One day when straightening my closet I put it on the bed. I became involved in some other activity and when I returned several hours later I found the dogs had attacked and killed it. The two of them were lying in a mountain of fur. When I entered the bedroom they looked up at me, tails wagging, proud. Not receiving the reaction they anticipated they thought there was something wrong with me.
Why do I bring this up now you're asking? Because detachable fur collars will be an important fall accessory -- if you care. I'm not advocating, I'm transmitting information.
Eté has finally returned with enthusiasm today. Lunch and dinner in the gazebo, warm tomatoes off the vine, other green vegetables (if I can find them), maybe a summer cocktail.
I keep thinking one day I will go out to the potager and return with a green plant, chisel it up, toss it into my vinaigrette and it will be a weed. I'm assuming most weeds are not poisonous?
A demain. Do have a lovely, lovely weekend.
